It is our beloved Prime Minister who has called upon us to clean India Cleanliness is next to godliness. So, we should clean our areas whereever we are living. First, we should keep our body, clothes and belongings clean. Therefore we should keep our houses, streets, public places villages and towns free of dirt and garbage. It is shocking to see our public places even hospitals, temples and educational institutions dirty, filthy and stinking. Open defecation and spitting any where have become the norms. We should ash chew these bad habits. Severe punishment should be given to those who indulge in spreading filth. Our wrong habits, lack of proper sanitary facilities, non-performance of municipalities and even poverty contribute to making our village, cities and towns unclean. Everything contributing to the air and water pollution should be stopped immediately. Along with physical and environmental cleaness, we should also try to be pure and clean in our thoughts.
‘An Epitaph‘ has been composed by an eminent modern poet, Walter de la Mare. In the poem, the poet has highlighted the transitoriness of human life and love. To his mind, beauty and love, however, charming and cherished, do not last long.
The poet says that he loved a lady from the core of his heart but the lady was ‘light of step’ and she betrayed the poet’s love perhaps proud of her beauty. The poet tells her that no one will love her after she becomes old and ugly nor anyone will remember her after she dies. In this way, the poet has snubbed the frailty of the lady he loved so passionately. Thus the poem acquires the charactristic of an unusual epitaph on the lost love of the poet.
